Are you the same guy that did that ropes tutorial? I loved that one.

Anyway, about this one: The tip is OK, I usually achieve what you did there with the stroke effect, but it’s the same basic technique, however the masks, I do two different layers for the text, both with the stroke, I pre-compose those and then make masks for the upper I do the first set of lines(what would be on top) and the second a rough bottom mask(don’t spend much time for detail there because you already have the top parts of the first letter by the time the layer underneath comes into play.

Cool, I hope you keep upping these nice tuts.

I have a question bout the write-on plug-in: Does it work on shapes or anything vector or is it just for text? As far as I can tell there’s a higher degree of control on this. How high does the brush size go?

Brush size I believe goes up to 1000px but I could be wrong… thats just off the top of my head. Yeah works with any vector or shape or anything basically. Only reason I used it on text and only mentioned text is because this is just a quick tip and I didn’t have time to mention much other than using it on text.

… you gotta remember, most people haven’t never seen that link or even would know to look for it, so even if it’s been talked about before… it’s still valuable to talk about again to introduce those who are new.

You are a genius. Why do they build all the new cars these days? All of this has been covered for ages. Why do they produce all the action movies these days? They were already covered for like hundred years ago. GOSH all those posers.

Good tutorial. I would have to say that I stopped it at the middle, couldn’t stand the sound of your keystrokes and a weird sound you have when clicking. and could I suggest a little more enthusiasm when doing this? You are teaching how to do something, the last thing you want is to have your audience feel like this is boring to you, ’cause it made it super boring for me.

    Thanks tho.
