This entry is part 3 of 5 in the series Introduction to Writing Scripts

In Part 3 of this series, we’ll be learning how the Adobe Javascript Editor works and how to write a script that can be executed in After Effects. You will learn how to debug scripts and end up with just a few lines of code that will generate a cube that consists of 1.000 solids, a parent null object, a light and a camera.

very useful and simple in describing.

  • Jorrit Schulte

Yea! this is the good stuff, there is a supprizing lack of scripting training for After Effects.

That’s a personnal opinion but i think that writting tutorials are really easier to follow than video if they speak about code.
We don’t have to see each steps of you writtings glyphes to understand the process :)
and it is hard to “talk and type” as you said :P

    nice tuts anyway.
    Thanks !

As Andreas said, there seems to be something missing. At the end of Part 2 the audio bars is mentioned to happen in the next part (which would be part 3). And now part 3 is starting saying “back to what we did with the audio bars”, which was never actually gone over.

Sorry if that seems confusing – the point is Part 3 should probably be Part 4, and what really is Part 3 is probably missing.
