Final Product What You'll Be Creating

This is an introduction to the new features of Newton 2. Newton is a 2D physics simulator that allows users to apply various simulations like gravity, collision, and bounce to their layers in After Effects. We’re going to work through a few scenarios to see how to set up and execute a simulation.

Looks like a cool plug-in but as a non-professional user who likes to play around with AE, $250 seems to be a bit high. Make it $99 and I am sure you will get more users like myself who would pay for it.

Great tutorial Ryan. You are a great presenter. And glad to see you are as excited about Newton 2 as we are!

i have a quick question. im new to AE and newton. can the shape masks have an effect on other shape masks in terms of size? for instance can one create others? similar to a fission reaction. or can one destroy another similar to one object smashing another. how can you integrate that?

Not sure of what you are talking about. Shapes cannot be animated (I mean path of the shape, it cannot change). You can insert and remove an object from your scene using in/out point of your layer un your composition. You can “destroy” an objects, but you’ll have to create the fragments yourself (use illustrator for example.). We provide samples scenes, you can download them on aescripts. You might also want to check our Newton’s showcase : https://vimeo.com/groups/newtonshowcase
