This video further expands on the facial expressions controls and builds some relationships between them like having a blink affect the eye brows and the cheeks or a smile slider affect the mouth, the jaw and the cheeks all at the same time without having to animate them independently.

    Cool… I’ve done this in Cinema 4D but never thought about doing this in AE as well. Very informative Tutorial.Thumbs up

    Everything works perfectly apart from when I go back to the slider that instead of moving up and down it moves from corner to corner. I dont get it. I have done the entire process again thinking that I must had done something wrong in the beginning but no. It’s the same problem now.

    Blink=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Blink”)(“Slider”);
    Mouth=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Mouth”)(“Slider”);
    Smile=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Smile”)(“Slider”);
    Eyebrows=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Eyebrows”)(“Slider”);
    Anger=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Anger”)(“Slider”);
    Cheeks=comp(“rose face parts”).layer(“Head Controls”).effect(“Cheeks”)(“Slider”);

    PosX=transform.position[0]+Smile;
    PosY=transform.position[1]-Smile-Cheeks;

    [PosX,PosY]

    what could have gone wrong?! This is the same one Daniel has. uff its so frustrating I was going so fast!

      Ok, I’m not entirely sure that was the exact way but playing along the whole day I think I sorted it out. It was a matter of plus and minus. And I’m not advanced AE animator. (Yet*.10);

    Wait…how did he attach the eyebrows to the skin? Did he attach it to the puppet pins or the slider? any one know?
