Final Product What You'll Be Creating

In this tutorial we’ll take a look at using Time Remap to create a procedural animation based on the direction of a path. The goal is to make a Write-on animation look more natural by having the wrist angle change to mimic movements of real writing instead of it being completely static.

Or you could actually save yourself time and just record yourself writing?

There are many styles, I have not watched this tutorial but the assumption would be to input whatever you wanted to write w/ a path then have the hand animate properly every time, giving you the opportunity to write an abundance of diff. stuff w/out it being so time consuming via footage (poor lighting, improper disk space allocation w/ heavy source footage, noise/grain, angles not matching, lack of the ability to zoom, re-shoot time, lack of customization, etc. homie).

Yes, the footage would look nicer, but it’s not an absolute.

Can you download/buy the hand sequence somewhere? I have tried to create one myself using green screen but the result isnt that good.

Very good tutorial. Easy to do and very usefull.
Of course we could write by hand each word or drawing and record it, but the ambition is being able to change and modify easely, when the client wich always change his mind decide to change his mind, and to manage all settings.
    Thanks for sharing this.

This really is a great tutorial,
I couldn’t figure out how to turn off the writing, like to move to the next word, or move the null without writing when I finish up, help anyone?
    Thanks

You can Parent the Null to a secondary Null, and move the second one, that wat your arm will move without affecting the motion path

Great tutorial, but having some issues. I’m trying to apply this onto one of my drawings, but when I use the motion sketch, I’m having trouble trying to trace my drawing when the solid is in the way. Not only that, since using the motion sketch only captures one sequence per line drawing, it makes it very difficult to get a good drawing out of it. Any suggestions on how to apply this technique onto a plain drawing?
