In this tutorial, Martin Brennand, the senior product specialist from Imagineer Systems shows how to convert 2D film to stereoscopic 3D. Mocha Pro is used for the roto and clean plating, Freeform Pro is used for the extrusion and a useful script breaks down the masks into luminance depth graded by layer order.

Project files for CS5 & CS5.5, AE script & mocha Pro project are included.

    Hi Martin,
nice tutorial. Very good pace and explanations.
    I got three questions though:
    1) Where did the cleanplate come from? Photoshop job or even Mocha?
2)What do you think of the new Scripted 3D Camera inside AE CS5.5. Doesn´t it do the same you where doing manually ?
3)Will you show us some more mocha tricks? It´s an awesome software ;)

@5:07-5:22 all you needed to do was set the splines out point instead of moving it.

got 2 questions for ya. how did you make that frame 1 clean plate for the hole clip? and after you went thru all that adjusting y is there still not much depth?
