thanks a lot for sharing this tip, one of the best tutorials here …

now I can go “fog-ation” as much as I want :D

  36. andrew says:

Amazing tutorial, but seriously speak up, i almost fell asleep halfway through. Your voice is insanely boring. You sounded like you wanted to die or something. Most people watch certain tutorials because they want to see a particular person teach it.

  37. FG says:

    Pretty cool

  38. sodes says:

namaste pasa tutorial la yaku use ful jula ka yaku yaku shubhya

  39. oczkowski says:

Nice tutorial; I need to play with CC vector blur some more. I don’t understand the need to stagger the layers in 3D or to create a camera in this instance. Depth of field? But you didn’t switch that on. Also, wouldn’t it make more sense to invert your gradient wipe at the end so that the fog obscured the logo rather than revealing it?

    • Author

      Hi, oczkowksi,

Camera was there if you wish to animate, but I did not in this tutorial, If you like you could animate the camera or attach it to null and give some kind of depth like dof as you mention. And about the logo reveal, I was more concern about the effects itself rather that reveal portion as there are lots of tutorial for this type of effects,

Anyways, thankyou for the wonderful comments,

      happy after effecting

      Sachin

    Very Very Very Useful.

  45. nahcra says:

  46. Simon says:

    Hi guys,

First of all, Sachin thanks a lot for creating this tutorial. I’m trying to do this but something like 30seconds long. So 6x more than in your preview.

I figured out that I can just increase the Offset Turbulence – and I did, I had something like 8000 and -7000. Everything looks really cool, but when I’m trying to “Make Movie” no matter with what compression and different settings my After Effects CS3 crushes everytime when it is trying to render 20-40 frame. I have no idea why is that.

I can send you my project (200kB + logo).
    My computer parameters:
    AMD Athlon 64 Processor
    3800+
2,41 GHz, 3,00 GB RAM (but AE is reading only 2 GB because of Windows XP)

I’m begging you for some help.
    Simon :)

      Hi Simon,

One thing you can do is loop your effects so that you dont have to render that long.
and if you want to render the whole length and getting crash, try reseting the after effects(you know, it works for me when i get the crash), and also try turning on caps lock while rendering.
Good luck and let me know.

      Regards
      Sachin

  47. Cormano says:

this is a great effect and use of fractal noise, but this could be much more awesome if the tutorial was written instead of being a video. I couldn’t follow the narration very well and had to repeat parts over and over again. I’d much rather see the steps written down. Thanks for the tutorial nonetheless!
