  1. Wrong illustration! This kind of smoke comes when the candle is turned off. However the technique is good.

  2. Chris says:

    what is here realistic?
nice tut, but wrong title, like chandan said.

  3. IANH - BR says:

its a good alternative for people dont like to buy some smoke footage.

  4. You have to stop putting the word “realistic” on every title…

  5. Lyndon says:

You all gonna critique his accent next, lol.

Final result: Title worded wrong w/ an effect that will convince anyone if its animated properly at the right distance.

    Good job man :)

  6. Chris says:

People need to relax on the instant criticizing for stupid pointless shit.

The example might not be the most realistic composition, but as Lyndon said, use this effect in the right way, and compose it properly in the scene and i’m sure you wont be able to make a more realistic effect.

  7. WebGuide4U says:

So…I think that looks nice and it’s not necessary to pay attention of one title…The most important thing is experience :)

  9. Mike says:

I think this is truly amazing and I can’t wait to see what I can do with this. It’s quite lovely in its effect.

  10. Michael says:

yes it’s not realistic that the smoke is coming when the flame is still there, but the effect (the smoke) is realistic. The timing is just bad. You can’t get angry at people for pointing out that it is not realistic, it’s not, or at least the time that it is used isn’t.

That being said, i love the effect, and wil probably use it. there are a few things that could be altered like maybe lowering the life of particles, amongst other things.

All and all a very PRACTICAL effect, that I am glad there is a tutorial for.

  12. Heey says:

This is one of the good tutorials of AETuts+. The presentations may be not the best but what the tutorial is about, the content, is of really good quality! Keep up the amazing work. :)

  13. slize says:

Nice tut dude. Keep it up

  14. Simon Baeg says:

    guys its a good tutorial..
it might look fake from close up but from far away it can look quite realistic with few minor adjustments.

    • Takeshi says:

No, it won’t! The smoke will get bigger and brighter, so to say it will distract the audience through the composition…
it should be lowered the opacity and ther should be no flame. period

    • Simon Baeg says:

lol mate try doing it in a footage before commenting.
did you not see the “few minor adjustments” part?

  15. Is it possible to make that effect using the older versions of Trapcode Particular ?

    Thanks!

    Author

Yes it’s possbile since we don’t use any of the new features in this tutorial.

  17. HARBINDER says:

that looks nice and we should not comment on that, if you knew that(who are criticizing ) ,why you don’t make like this……good tuts

  18. Ant Gray says:

A bit edgy, but may be applicable in many cases.

  19. Goran says:

Where are you from? are you from bolivia? or mexico??

  20. ilhamks says:

yeah, even though the title is wrong, just look at the essence of the tutorial. that’s the vital part that we should understand.

nice work mate, keep it up. but be careful with the title next time…it’s a wild world here LOL.

  21. warex says:

I think the tecnique its so good for something like a cigarette smoke,
