Concept is amazing! At some points, tracking was going off. Otherwise fantastic!

Emilie, very good tutorial! I didnt understand what the [0,-70] at the end of the expression does…

      hi,
In fact (0, -70) are the coordinates of the clone area. We want it to be lower in Y, so we put down to -70 for Y. I don’t know if it’s clear, it’s hard to explain in english ^^

  • Michael

Good tutorial, Like the concept. I was not a fan of the tracking, it was constantly slipping and sliding, I would have liked to seen it PINNED down 100% especially when you’re working with a simple object and a simple track.

  • Romain

    Your tutorial is so nice.

    I love your accent.

Keep on Emilie, you’ll be a star soon ! :)

  • Dennis

Excellent tutorial! I absolutely love listening to your voice don’t worry :)

très joli tutorial, enfin une voix féminine!
J’aime bien les animations minimalistes incrustées sur vidéo, la poésie du simple est toujours autant efficace.

    Hi Emilie

Your english is fine! Nice tut but can you also make tutorial how to make that the text goes with the toiletpaper as you show in the first scene of your final vid?! That would be amazing :D

    Lennard

That was done for real, it wasn’t an effect. Too bad too, because that was much more effective than the actual tracking on the toilet paper roll.

funny, why didn’t you try mocha for tracking . it’s easier and give more precise result

In fact I also use Mocha, but here I just wanted to explain basic tracking in AE. I begin with a simple tutorial to reassure me. But It would be more complicated for the next ^^

    Hey Emilie,

Great tut and your english was beautiful.

  • Facundo

    Hi.
Very useful tut. The video is lovely.
Tracking seems to be simple but then some problems appear tha could be a pain in the ass, for example the problem with the clone stamp tool. Thank you for that tip.
I love tracking tuts. And your english is pretty clear and easy to understand. And your accent is so nice and sweet to hear.

I’ll be waiting more tuts from you.

    Keep going

  • Facundo

Hi again. I was looking for your page on Vimeo and couldn’t find it. Can you post a link?

  • Goolien

    J’ai apprendu beaucoup! Merci!

The only difficult thing for me was I used the round brackets ( ) instead of the square brackets [ ]
Once I watched at full res, I figured it out.

    Thanks

    Tu explique bien!

I love your tutorial and I am currently building one for my self. However, I am having a hard time doing the picture animation. How did you sync your voice with the PNG animation?

thanks. In fact I record the voice afterward, watching the final video :)

  • Leon

Thanks for the great tutorial. I think you explain it very clearly. Please could you tell me how you made the png animation for the face? Thx

    • Emilie

I made an animation in photoshop (as to create an animated gif for example). I draw it with my tablet. Afterward, I export it in png sequence.

  • jpipon

    Y’aurait-il moyen de l’avoir en francais? :(

    • http://www.facebook.com/BangRangPeter Émilie Nicolas

Non, désolé, mais je n’aurai pas vraiment le temps de faire une version française. :/
