Great Tutorial………..Great way to do fun with friends
Did you ask them for using their footage? It’s commercial use here, I think this is not allowed…
Hollywood camera work allow their plates to be used for any purpose.

Link above.
The usage of hollywoodcamerawork.us. footage for educational purposes is permitted as long as you include a link back to them, and don’t re-distribute their footage.
Although they are very clear about the usage of their footage, i wasn’t to sure about it my self, and didn’t wont to tack any unnecessary chances. so i e-mailed them about it and got their “thumbs up”.
And so… once again i would like to thank hollywoodcamerawork.us for letting me use their upstanding footage in my tutorial.
Wow- the discovery of hollywoodcamerawork is just as great of a tip as this tutorial itself- thanks! I’ve always wondered why it was so hard to find some green screen footage to practice on. :)
In the preview its looks like the wrinkels are floating..
Done quite intelligently!
Add to this, if you had shown the eyes a bit slant (with mesh warp or liquify tool), it would have added 5 stars. It would have shown the old age effect on the eyes too.
Nevertheless, the idea is nice and it could be really helpful for lots of people. :)
Good point…
Nice!! Really intelligent effect!
ehh the thumbnail looks terrible so i wont watch the tutorial, if you look at the thumbnail around the scalp and eyes there are very noticable white and orange skin tone differences
You won’t watch it because you don’t approve of the thumbnail? That’s a bit asinine, you can still watch the tutorial and learn the techniques and perhaps fix whatever problem you have with it and report back your results for the rest of the community to learn and gain valuable insight from. Anyone who makes a tutorial for others to learn and gain valuable knowledge from deserves some serious kudos. Please leave your passive aggressive snarky attitude in your high school because that kind of thing doesn’t fly with a client, friends, or family.
I agree with sean. The funny thing about this is that it took more effort for Patrick to write that comment than it would have to click on the preview view to see if the effect would be worth learning. SMH.
I completely agree with Sean. Aetuts and other tutorials have been a few times my light saviors as most of the times deadlines are for yesterday and sometimes the techniques we learn here help us getting the job done.
I not interested in copying other’s work, creativity is all up to you, just interested in learning new skills and tricks, that can ease our work, and have more time for creativity, that’s what it counts in the end of the day.
Thanks Ran and all the others who have contributed to AETUTS + and the other Tuts+ for sharing your knowledge.
Peace :)
hello chandan kumar..why are u not making any new tutorials man? really like your work. vfxrider.com right?
Hi Sayantan, I do exist but right now I am making tuts for CGTuts. You can watch my recent tuts there as several tuts on 3ds Max, one on MudBox and several Premium contents also. I am making some more fresh tuts and will be published soon. For AETust, I would come back if some new and fresh ideas come in my mind. Thanks for writing.
very nice tutorial
thanks for sharing
Awesome tutorial… totally saved my butt.
we shot a commercial where there the same actor played himself through three different ages. this tutorial totally enhanced the effect of the rather lacking make-up. Also, note that we found an unsharp mask helped on the skin tones – it seems to amplify the imperfections in the skin. You can also use the ‘bulge’ tool lightly to give them a fat chin…
post a link… I’d love to see it!
Hi, I know this might be a silly question, but im a rookie trying to make a good impression on my professor for a good grade…and i would love to try to do this. Thing is, I dont know what the software thats being used is called. And i dont mean After Effects of course. The one where he made the splines?
If anyone could help id greatly appreciate it :)
Mocha for AE
In this tutorial you showed how to change the background from the green screen to a simple black one. what did you use to crop the black out and replaced it with the other comp please?
