Create a MoGraph Urban Jungle – Day 2
Final Product What You'll Be Creating
In day 2, Naim show us how to setup the vector graphics in Illustrator then track the man on the phone in Mocha AE. Finally, to wrap things up we jump back into After Effects to finalize the composite.
Naim explains:
Today we will continue animating the floral elements, and position the elements into the 3D scene. We will use the camera data to achieve easy track mattes, only needing a small amount of keyframes. We will spend some time focusing on a roto workflow, learning the do’s and don’ts of all things roto, the roto application of choice will be Mocha (it’s free with CS4). Finally the mattes will be applied to specific layer concluding in a beautiful live action/motion graphics scene.

C’est super. Merci de partager.

something is wrong :S
looks like http://www.viddyou.com/ is down.
Viddyou Site temporarily closed for maintenance. ……
Are there any mirror for the video tutorial?
Viddyou sucks. Why not Vimeo?
We are aware that the videos are currently down. Please bear with us while we work to fix this.
OK
“Are there any mirror for the video tutorial?

How about you stop flaming people and be patient…
I was referring to the Preview…
SUPER
Hello Naim,
not bad for your first tutorial:) Thanks for explaining the rotoing so well. Would have been interesting to see you doing just a quick rotomask in Mocha.
May I ask How long you did take to roto the whole shot?
Thank…….gooooooood
Great Stuff!
great video! thanks a lot!
ILLD… this was my first attempt at VFX in AE, i made it a a while ago… when i was just starting out… it took me bloody ages… the roto alone took me a week or two (on and off)… and to complete the whole shot… well that was about a month or so of work…
how i actualy taught it in the tutorial was not how i made it a the begining….the comp was such a mess… i actualy learned from my own tutorial…
when you have a shot in your head be sure to plan it before you begin.
Thanks for the kind comments guys.
Great tutorial! Thanks!
amazing

Very Nice Tutorial. Thank-you. I learned quite a bit watching it.
The biggest thing I learned is just how much more I have to learn! So thanks again.
Hey Naim,
I just watched both parts of the tutorials and I must say that it was a very proffesional and creative tutorial that you have made. Being your first one.
You did a very good job, and I hope like many others that you will make another great tutorial like this one.
Hey Naim,
Do you film that footage or you buy it and where, also were you buy the graphics or if you can send me the project files + footage if you can ok, this is a superb tutorial and I know you will be a lot better thanks on the next one, cheers…
Where can I get the footage.
I am willing to buy it .
Hi guys thanks for the comments.
unfortunatley i cannot give out the footage as it is not mine. but you can find plenty of footage to mess around with on http://www.vimeo.com you are able to download most clips from their. the vector art i brought from istock.
How do you download footage from Vimeo i try but no luck??
poject??where

Awesome! I can’t believe it’s your 1st tute either, it was very informative with a fantastic result. Great work Naim, thanks so much for posting this. I’ll be sure to join your Vimeo Group too.

Thank you very much for this outstanding tutorial. One of the best and most thorough on rotoscoping available on the web. Boujou or not, everyone can learn from the tracking concepts you pointed out in this tut.
Please keep the tuts coming!

Amazing tutorial! Top quality and very professional looking! Now if only I could find the time to invest in a project such as that!
wow thnx a lot. this tutorial was so helpful. i’ve really been looking for sth. that explains these things
Loved your tutorial, very clear and informative.
Once again Congradulations !!!
Although it is your first tutorial ,you’ve conveyed the whole idea so great….and with professionalism (at least to my eyes).
I feel a bit scared to get myself into this tutorial step by step becuase I will need months to practice it and organize such a complicated comp but I’ve learned a lot of things I’ve been missing for a long time.
Your tutorial took me one step further and I will try to practice it with a more simple comp at the beginning.
I hope that you will post more tutorials in the future .
You’ve just added on your list a new Fan of your work and creativity.
keep going Naim
Great tutorial thanks

here are what i did in the boujou
but i don’t know who to figure out which one is floor and which one is wall
it’s there are any tips or tutorial can tell us how to distinguish these !?
ps. the orignal video was right there
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVzpTql-h60
I watched your footage. Boujou is for 3D tracking, and for your material you don’t need one – it’s flat wall!!! Get better footage with corners, angles moving on parallax or something, then Boujou will shine!
How much would you charge a client for a shot like this?
Naim you are pure BBQ ownage!! Many thanks for your time and effort on this, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for!
Zang….
muy bueno satanas
Naim, I loved your tutorial!
One thing I wanted to clarify for those folks who are desperately searching for a way to export rotto shapes or mattes from Mocha for AE that came with CS4…. there is no way to do that! After some internet research, I found that actually users must upgrade to the v2 version of Mocha for AE ($100) in order to get the export render option.
Of course, the full version of Mocha has this.
Just thought this may save a few people some time and frustration.
how can i found this video of original?
Great, thorough tutorial Naim. One complaint; the audio seems to get about 10 seconds ahead of the video in part 2, and it’s really hard to follow when I’m hearing about what you’re doing but watching what you were talking about 10 seconds ago.
Can you see if you can fix that?
otherwise, great job.
Hi guys thanks for the comments.
unfortunatley i cannot give out the footage as it is not mine. but you can find plenty of footage to mess around with on http://www.vimeo.com you are able to download most clips from their. the vector art i brought from istock.
i cant see all the tutorial and make the download.why?
The download should be in mp4 not flv lawl
Thanks very much for this tut…
really interesting and very well done
Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks! Beautiful effect!
