Final Product What You'll Be Creating
Twice a month we revisit some of our readers favorite tutorials from the archives. In light of this weeks Elemental Combat Series, we are going to repost this tutorial from back in February to complete the week out.
This tutorial has three main parts. It covers the panorama background plate for the scene. It does NOT cover the rotoscoping of the actor (grrrr). Then, the jump is animated with Action Essentials II dirt footage composited in. Finally, the “camera move” effect is demonstrated from an intriguing zoom to epic wide angle!! Get your Jump on!

Interesting :)
a final effect embed video would be cool :P
Cool to see some good tutorials on here again….
better with the dirt on the cloths and face of the actor.
however very nice and interesting preview i have seen.
:D
NICE TUTORIAL THANKS :D
Thank you man, i actually learned allot of tips i’ve been thinking about, you explained allot of them :)
I´v seen this tut before. Just a dude jumping down instead of up.
But nice one. But it is a rerun.
If you’re referring to the Hancock Super Jump, thats not really the case. I made that tutorial too and there are a lot of principle differences between the two videos in how they were made.
Hi Wren,
that was the on – it was super cool.
Just thought it was a copycat :) will check what you have in this one.
I learned a lot from the previous.
thx.
Excellent tutorial. Thanks!
Dude everything you make is fantastic.
everything looks good except for the larger chunks of dirt which, instead of immediately collapsing to the ground, linger in the air
cool effects. but the ground started lifting up too early. but still a very nice effect.
That was actually on purpose. To show something was coming, then have the actor jump out of the bubbling ground. It is very easily changed if you want to though. That’s the beauty of these tutorials. You can do what you want.
Awesome idea!
thanks for share
Hey man! Really cool tutorial congratulations! Like vary much the result you got.
I understand that you are getting better each time on making awesome tutorials and i’ll add only one thing, watch out for the “hann” sounds that you make, you are a really good tutor, just work out your speech! :)
Hope that was useful, keep up the good work!
wow that looks amazing
when matching up layers, I prefer to set the front layer to “difference” transfer mode, line it up, then switch it back to normal
very nice tutorial
How do I for download the footage? Thank you.
this cool
I’m gonna have to try this. It looks pretty sweet!
Not Bad
after donwload ur tutorial file got “Quick time Atom error” …how to get rid of thar man????
pliz
hm… try opening in VLC player.
This thing looks awsome. Im new at after effect…and i have problem with rotoscoping =/. Is it posible to get a short or long…or i guess any kind of tutorial that would help me do the rotoscoping for this example.
Ty for your anwsers in advance.
Cool! What kind of screen do you use?
What’s with the repetitive content – the site just keeps rolling over the same shit again and again, the whole home page are repeats today… are they not getting enough content?
Its amateur content at best too.
I’ve done better looking shits than this.
I would love for you to submit a tutorial idea:

This was awesome thanks for the tutorial. I wish you would have shown how you color corrected it. The colors went from flat to very vibrant, especially Sam. He was quite dark.
If is Possible upload your tutorials directly on your web because we have problem in iran with watching these videos due to filtering some of websites like: youtube / vimeo/BlipTV,etc
thanks alot for good tutorials
