Final Product What You'll Be Creating

This tutorial is based on an expression which lets the user animate the value of an effect randomly and successively. Today we’ll be creating the effect of an image loading with a slow internet connection. By applying this expression to both the Linear Wipe and Mosiac plug-ins, we can create a believable “loading” animation.

The expression used in this tutorial is courtesy of Dan Ebberts.

Nice quick tip. I’ve always been bad with expressions so it’s nice to watch a tutorial on them every once and awhile.

This was very helpful. I am always on the lookout for ways to improve my animations and this was spot on.

I don’t need to simulate, all that i need to do is record my screen and voilá.
