Final Product What You'll Be Creating

In this tutorial we’ll be creating fusion-like effect for text in After Effects. It is an interesting combination of the built in text animators and some of the integrated AE tools. We’ll be adding different passes of layers to achieve randomness in motion, color and perspective. Simple but yet efficient and creative way towards an attractive visual effect. Hope you find it useful.

      Yeah, yeah all that.. and the fact that this technique was created and used, 2 years ago. Andrew’s “same tutorial” as you call it, is just a few months old if I recall correctly. Bummer, huh? :)

      Excellent tutorial inlifethrill, I think this one covers a lot of the basic techniques and technical flourishes that help speed up the After Effects workflow. The effect looks great and serves as a good foundation to build on for more advanced animations. It’s surprising how underrated the built in text animations are.

      The tutorial could be rendered out at higher quality though as a lot of the detail in the settings is almost impossible to see from the video, it’s good that you convey the parameters and options verbally but it would help a lot if people could pause the video and look closer at the settings. As others have mentioned, the pacing is a little fast, I dont think this is a problem though as it allows advanced users to follow along at the same pace, beginners can still utilise a pause button.

    Please bare in mind alot of “NEW” users watch so a little slower on your next tutorial would help please :).

    At 1st, a BIG THX for ur great tutorial ! It helped me a lot cause i started with AE not since a long time lol
    but i’m a good studient with some great teachers who makes some tutorials lol Hum i try if it’s not too much complicate in fact.

      Hello, you need to set the gravity value to a negative number. Check the tutorial again.
