    http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/videos/redgianttv/item/26/

    • Jake

Yep, but Harry Franks one looks much better.

      • http://www.gerjanlonink.nl Gerjan

They will remove it soon enough ;)

  • http://www.pleasewhisper.com/ Ed

Agreed. Didn’t watch the method, but the effect is spot on for the Red Giant tutorial. Red Giant result more refined though.

  • Alex

Haha this is funny i was just working on a tutorial exactly like this.. oh well man good job on the video alot better than i probably could have done

  • Richard Williams

Sans Particular 2.0? Try AK’s 3D Falloff at:

It’s been said, but I’ll echo what the others are saying. This is a copy of Harry Frank’s tutorial over at Red Giant. When you get down to it, it’s basically plagiarism and I hope you guys didn’t pay him for this.

    Uhm… this sounds familiar…

  • Ben

Actually saw a live (tutorial) presentation showing the majority of these techniques at AENY around 6 months ago.
Alexey is introducing a couple of new little things into the project, but nothing at all that hasn’t been available as a free tut prior.

Actually this was first done by Belief Studios using Particular 1.0~1.5. If you look at this linked video you can see it was done using After Effects ver. 4. Belief Studios web page is just blank with the word “Do you Belief?” on it now. Not sure if they went out of Bus. or what. Nothing against Harry… but he wasn’t the first.

arrrgh you beat me to it scott

  • Jared

There is also a very similiar tutorial that comes with Video
    Co pilots optical flares plugin….

    • Marti

The VCP result is much better and he used a very different technique for spreading out the people that doesn’t require Particular.

  • Bob D

Even if it was original, it looks pretty cheezy.

  • Adam

“Who cares if you weren’t invited to the party… you can make your own in AE!”

    HAHAHAHAHAH i’m rolling… good words :D

Not bad outcome, I will take a look for some usefull techniques. thanks

  • http://ads asd

This is similar to Andrew Kramer’s optical flares crowd tutorial.

  • Nick

Вполне приличный туториал, хорошо все вделал! Молодец!

  • Billy

Could the DJ be anymore unrealistic?

  • bob

@billy glad to see that your still around to take some sense into these peoples.

    1. who in their right mind would do a tutorial on this when it has been covered like 10 times and think that no one is going to notice.

    2. the only reason why he would is if he knew that he was going to get away from it with the help of the AETUTS + staff.

maybe they should do a little background check before they post.

belive me they do check tuts before posting!

  • Jay H

    Hi folks.

Often times, tutorial creators have a same way of thinking, and we come up with the same concepts. I’ve had tutorials duplicated by lots of people, but even with the same content, everyone explains things differently and uses their own techniques.

To clarify some things, the tutorial I did was an update to a tutorial on the Particular training DVD that was produced in 2008, and actually written back in 2006. The crowd tut I did was absolutely based on the minitut from Belief. In fact, I tried contacting Mike Goedecke at Belief to get permission to show their original use of this for the Zoom broadcast package, but never got a response. They covered the general ideas, but left a lot of specifics out, and I wanted to provide more detail on this. Being that I didn’t get permission, I couldn’t show the example.

As for the VCP tutorial, I’ve not seen it, and the site is down now. But I look forward to checking it out.

    ^ What Harry said =]

Everyone wants to be the first person to “expose” that something is stolen from another site. Humans have been around for thousands of years and there are now billions of us…. you really think two people aren’t gonna come up with the same concept?
