Wouldn’t it be better to create static elements in AI, for example, to retain the vector quality?

Shape layers are all vector based, you can scale them as much as you wish and the quality won’t degrade like with the raster based images.

Looks like you’re totally right: http://perfectfx.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/comparison.jpg

The thing is that I was confused about the odd pixels of those shapes you were creating in the video. But looks like it’s ok.

Anyways, thanks for these tuts! :)

Also it may be the resolution settings of your project, depending on that and if you select square pixels or not could increase those ridges on rounded areas.

Will consider that, Raymond. Thank you!

I just wanted to say and inform people that Mr. Stefan Surmabojov, is a great instructor and has a lot of great tutorials at CGtuts+ and most of them are spectacular and would tie in great with what you have learned here so far in this series. Yes, they are using a 3D system but many of them also get refined and polished in After Effects.
I strongly suggest you check them out –> http://cg.tutsplus.com/?s=Stefan+Surmabojov

And thanks for the great work Stefan!

These graphics and tutorials are great for anybody wanting to learn AE, especially someone starting out like me. Plus they would look great on the type of music, dance and fashion motion graphics I am wanting to create. Thanks for the awesome tutorials. Andrew Cooper
