Final Product What You'll Be Creating

This post covers a digital video compositing technique for rendering photo-realistic water droplets moving on glass surfaces. This technique was used in a number of projects I participated in — see some examples on my portfolio website. No code is used to generate the shape or motion of the water droplets. Most of the job is done with standard two-dimensional compositing techniques. I developed the technique with Adobe After Effects and utilized software created by RE:Vision Effects. To get the effect to work properly you should use the Shade/Shape plug-in from RE:Vision Effects. You can download a demo version of the Shade/Shape plug-in from RE:Vision Effects’ website.

That does look photorealistic, I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish to be honest.
But it looks really good, the actual water droplets, is that a video footage or was that created too?
Or is the recycling logo what you created? If you created the water droplets too than that is awesome. :D

Well when you already know how its done (in this case the water droplets) you will never feel the wow effect, cc mercury yeah but for a beginner that sure is WOW.

in my opinion, i would do that drops that came fast with cc mercury.
but what would you do for that smal drops stopping falling, become shorter and longer…
i do not beleve that the mercury effect is the main milestone in this tutorial
