Nice short tip. A little hard to understand the voice (USA’ian here). The level of the voice seemed to fluctuate a lot, maybe some running some compressor effects would help?

Silly to add gaussian blur on a mask like that. Just feather it. It will take up less processing power. If you need to add a blur, use fast blur.

Just curious, what elements in this tutorial really required Trapcode? It looks like something that could be done with standard particles.

It’s a good tutorial, don’t get me wrong. The community’s over reliance on plug-ins is just a pet peeve of mine.

Great tutorial, simple though but effective, specially for Particular beginners and I really like that foggy touch you added with the white mask. I’ll point out that I never had any issues what so ever with you language and to point out I’m Swedish.

Keep up the great work and I would appriciate more tutorials from Kumar!

Amazing tutorial, nice english, very good, I like the how it worked out that effect, but I think it would be really cool if you added motion blur to the snow, tw would be more real you know, cause its really hard to a camera to detect sharp movement, and not alot of saturation, a little is perfect, but everthing else is great, keep the good work!

Thanks for the tutorial. Clear as a bell here in Australia. It’s always great to see how people do stock effects. We all do things differently and sometimes a blur is preferable to a feather. I appreciate you putting this together. Cheers.

Here’s another method for snow that I used a few years back: blow some flour against a black screen.

Check out this video demonstration if you’re interested.
