Final Product What You'll Be Creating

Ever wanted to make inanimate objects bleed? No?… oh, hmm… nevermind then. Come on! Of course you have… and now you can! In this tutorial you will learn the basics of how to create a flowing trail of blood using Trapcode Particular. In addition, you will learn how to change and use this is in other situations. I will teach you how to create the basic setup in After Effects as well as how to achieve some of the examples, which you can then incorporate with other tutorials on this site, to motion track, create divergence or just to enhance it in your own unique way.

Nice work mate! Wouldn’t have thought of using particular at first, makes good sense though!

  2. Very nice! Although I, too ,have developed a technique for same kind of bleeding effect just with the help of “Paint” in AE. To see my way see the tutorial I had made for AETuts+ .http://ae.tutsplus.com/tutorials/vfx/learn-how-to-composite-a-zombie-like-tear-of-blood/
    Cheers!

    chandan your tutorials are garbage

  4. weak says:

    WEAK !!!!

  5. Michael says:

The bleeding does not look very dimensional or is it just me? I would think that the blood would in fact kind of seep up a little and then start dripping slower before just pouring out. I know you only want to have a short video clip on the page but still you could have timed the effect better.

    Just my opinion.

    Thanks for sharing though.

  6. sigh says:

    wow !!

yeat another pointless and crap tutorial on aetuts when will you guys limit the crap uploaded to your sites, so much quantity so little quality!!

  7. barokt says:

I don’t thing it’s a garbage, it’s for experience, you don’t right to say like that things in here…

  8. billiam says:

thing are yes english way of view.. If and then it is great seeing what why and all. Thank it!

  9. Say thanks to Robert who has given such a nice technique. If if had been done by Andrew Kramer, you people would have commented “Oh God, Andrew your are awesome!” or ” Can’t wait to see it” or “You are great Andrew” blah blah.
Jake,Weak and Michael are “Retards”, that’s why they can’t digest any good and innovative techniques.
Cheers Robert for such a wonderful technique!

Not true. If this had been done by andrew kramer alot of people would have lost faith in him. The final product alone speaks for itself

If you’re looking to be spoon fed a complete project/tutorial based on your wants and needs then you’ve come to the wrong place, i am teaching a technique, it’s up to you to use it in a way that best suits you. It’s also up to you to develop this further to make it suit you needs. Just remember you’re the one watching the tutorials, you’re the one who needs help.

f you’re looking for someone to help you to do every single thing, you may as well quit using after effects because you’ll never get a career in it, without using your own ideas and a host of skills and techniques.

This tutorial is meant to be a technique, not something you can put on your “showreel” and profess to have made yourself…

      • jink says:

I get it, it’s a technique. But if your technique creates something that looks bad, then maybe I should try another technique

  10. Chizz says:

BAM! Thank you Rob! That is exactly why I am here to learn. Learning from tutorials has allowed me to expand my skills and techniques 10 fold and much faster than I ever would have reading from a book. Thank you again and again for taking the time to do this!

  11. frankyframe says:

people always like to see tutorials with great results, becouse this is what they are looking after when its time for doing a demoreal or when a client come and have a job
complete rebuildet stuff from andrew creamer :)
Its your choice to select your education.
In my oppinion, as a motion ” DESIGNER “its your part of work to do it that it looks fad, the tutorial should teach the technique!

  12. vghkjvjk says:

While I admire and enjoy aetuts, this tutorial is an insult to aetuts followers. I Have to agree with the disatisfied comments here because such dilettanteish “tutorial” slop should not be allowed to be hosted on this site. Showcasing A technique you say? Nothing new at all, but pure laziness on the side of the author to make a quick buck (and please, Kramer has far more class and you know it). Shape up or don’t bother with these lame submissions. That is the best encouragement I can give you, and you’ll thank us for it later.

  13. Lounès says:

Hi everyone, great tutorial, but i already have animated the blood who is dripping from the object, and i’d like to stop the blood dripping, and i don’t know how to do that, so if someone can help me that will be perfectly kind !!
