Final Product What You'll Be Creating
In this tutorial I will show how to create a logo transformation template that can be re-purposed and features the ability to drop in any logo and have the effect and shadows update automatically… similar to something you might see on Videohive. Then, to finish off we will build a simple 3d environment plus some additional scene elements.

Is anyone else having problems downloading the AETuts+ tutorials? It’ll download part of the video than stall out for me, am I the only one?
Great tutorial! I opened up After Effects for the first time and was able to follow through to the end with little difficulty.
Good job!

great tut’ where the file for premium members???
thanks. was Waiting for this one.
Very nice, simple and useful Ben.
Pretty good tut. Thanks!
Hey, to deal with the black edges when you do the transform effect, apply Motion Tile with like 200% for the output width and height, and turn on mirror edges. Make sure to put Motion Tile above Transform in your effect stack.
You can download my sample project showing this here:

Cheers for that Chris,
I did have a quick look at motion tile but I didn’t have it located correctly in the stack so nothing was happening. Simple but handy workaround.

anytime! glad to see a tutorial of this quality on here =] keep it up
Awesome work and a great tutorial..was very helpful!! :)
instead of using the “shake” adjustment layer over the whole comp, add the wiggle expression to the camera position (and potentially the x,y,z rotation) and pickwhip the first number of the wiggle expression to the slider control.
I just use that method sometimes in case I also have 2d layers in the comp, just ensures the shake will apply to all of my layers,
Ben.
Hi, i have a problem at 14.19 of your tutorial. I don’t know how to merge all the layers to get the logo transformation1 comp.. Can anyone help me out please?
Hey Damien,
This is what you do. Pre-compose all your sections, call it “Main Comp” then make it 3d and turn on collapse transformations. Then Pre-compose that comp cal it “Logo Transformation 1″ make it 3d and turn on collapse transformations. Hope this helps.

Hey there, great tut, just one question – Is there a way to change the logo (from logo 1 to logo 2) in the same comp without having to do the masking & rotating etc again?
My question exactly!
Ben – really cool tutorial and your teaching style is just right. Looking forward to more tutorials if you can manage it!
But yeah, is there a way to just swap out that first logo file, and save it all as logo2…?
Would be an awesome help.
Thanks!
:)
Aaah! – Never-mind!
It’s explained pretty clearly at 48:15.
Just some careful duplicating and renaming of comps. Duh… sorry.
Great tutorial!
Where did he get that place your logo here thing?
Hey Guys,
I’m glad you got it sorted out. Geoff the ‘place your logo here’ graphic is just a basic image I created in Photoshop. I’d love to do more tuts for you guys but just can’t find the time at the moment, things are super busy around here.
Cheers,
Ben.
gr8…..
For the black edges, you can apply the effect called CC Repetile and expand the Left and Right values In one Effect and set the repeat mode to Horizontal. And then Apply CC Repetile again and expand the Up and Down Fields and apply Repeat Vertical and it will in most cases repeat your pixels :)
