First!!
Correct me if i am wrong (which I probably am), but you can do the same effect with Particular, right?
Thanks
Your not wrong – you can achieve a smiler effect using particular. and i actually demonstrate the method and the result in my tutorial.
particular is very good at faking the falling and the physical reaction of the coins hinting the floor. unfortunately it’s not so good when it comes to the reaction of the particles/coins with one another. and this becomes very clear at the piling up part. you can get away with it if there is no camera animation but other wise the particular coins will always seem to hover.
Very Nice!
good tut men
I was watching the tutorial and the entire way I was wondering… with all the stock footage of coins and money falling… why would you need to do this from scratch?
One thing I didn’t enjoy is the results you got, because Newton uses 2D layers and doesn’t move them in 3D you don’t get a very convincing look, even with the 3D motion you added…
Using that ShapeShifter plug in for the coins, that might work better, but there’s a lot to do and it would take a powerful machine to run that scene, not to mention the settings for the lighting would probably be a bitch if they’re pre-composed…
Thanks a ton!!! It totally saved me :)
