In day 3 of the training Markus demonstrates how to construct an interconnected After Effects scene from many different animations. You’ll then learn how to track a moving camera to the scene.
This is the final video in the “Be Water” tutorial series, and should leave you with all the techniques needed to create a similar style of typographic and animated video.

Nice one Gustafsson, Thanks for sharing !!
Thanks Markus!
Very nice tut for AE………but I just got one question that’s bugging, What version of AE are you using??????
After seeing the many tuts, it inspires me to kick myself in the you-know-what and get moving to learn AE.
one question in mind that…um..how can the word “water” acting like flowing itself??
u didnt mention in the tut!
anyway!!nice tut!!
Hey!
Good questions!
@Luis R, I’m using After Effects CS4
@mini W, I used Displacement Map with radio waves to make the word “water” flow
Cheers! Markus

Awesome…. TQ for tutorial…
I really like these tutorials. The only gripe I have about this particular video is the end with “Be water my friend.” I think the water should wave a bit longer as it’s very short and can be easy to miss. Other then that though I love it.
Job well done Markus
Mini W….ripple effect.
Really good tutorials, keep it up

nice tuts but the video system is not really good…. I mean we can’t ALT+TAB from the video and AE without exit the fullscreen mode…
not confortable to use… Why not add a buton “WTACH THE TUT” and then open a window with large view ?
THX
I recommend downloading the .flv tutorial video and watching it within your main media player (I use Window Media Player Classic). This way you can treat the video as you would any other, so Alt-Tab-ing to and from AE or another desktop screen is seamless.
Very Good Tutorial
Nice Tutorial! Why is it that when I render my Comp my radial ramp comes out choppy?
Can anyone give me any advice on how to properly do it?
Not to sound like a broken record but the graphic files associated with this tutorial would be great!
perfect technique (: thanks for this amazing tuto
Really nice! Keep up the good work!
Hey I loved this tutorial! It was very complete and showed a lot of great tricks!
I tried a little typographic design of my own! To watch it:

Great work!
Aetuts should open a flickr group now that flickr allows all users to post video so that we can comment on others people attempts to these aetuts!
This site is wonderfull!!
Sweet tut…..but the audio could have been more clear and crisp.
But hey….keep the type tuts come’n
very nice tut and quote as well!
looking forward to more tuts
Thank you Markus! I have been looking for a tutorial just like this one for a while. I am an AE beginner and I found it fairly simple to follow. Even though some of the files are not provided, thats ok b/c the main ones are and I created the other ones myself. To make it more my own, I made some changes to my project by extending or shortening the different variables (instead of following all of the tutorial settings). This design project may not be the “next new thing” but, its new to me and I enjoyed learning some skills from it.
P.S. The Tuts+ network is AWESOME & PPL that are choosing to gripe on the tutorials should either make a better one (since their skills are so great) or SHUT IT
!
Fantastic work very inspiring
Could someone send me the finished file as a aef file. Something is not working with mine i cant understand whats wrong.
Does not even look close to as good as yours.

I Luv the tut, much appreciated. Keep them coming, it’s a blessing for us who don’t know how u did it and it also forces you to objectively look at your tech. to see if they are sharp and effective. Again THanx a million. God Bless.

Fantastic tutorial and it’s very helpful. Nice job. In developing any animated picture into amazing results, you’ll need an excellent tool and you could try
Gif Animated Pictures
Where can i find the sources to do this tutorial with goodness ??
@Lourdes, you have to purchase a membership w/ the site to see the source files appear. They show up after you’re logged in. I know, took me forever to figure out why I wasn’t seeing them in ANY of the tutorials, lol.
