nice effect… but tutorial is hard to follow cause of broken english. maybe a written one would be smoother… thank again though.

      Yeah, i know…
As we say in France, “I speak english like a spanish cow…”
      Sorry for that…
The next one will be a written one, sure

  16. Tino says:

sory for this comment, but for some reason i can not watch the movies. It says that the links are not found on my computer. Could you check it again plz !

  17. Karpathia says:

a bit confusing, maybe if did it from the start instead of explaining over the already done example.
    but very nice.

  18. Abe says:

I have seen plants created with the old version, but I have to say it looks so much better with the shading in 2.0. Brilliant, gonna check it out.

  19. adem says:

    çok güzel ya :)

  20. Lyndon says:

awesome, i knew it was a matte of time :)

  21. Adam says:

Really cool use of Particular 2! I found the tutorial difficult to follow, not because of your accent but because you skipped over settings and steps.

Also, the compression on the video makes it difficult to make out the settings, so it might be helpful to clearly say what settings you have used to get the effect.

For example, if setting velocity, don’t say something like, “and we set the velocity” and move on to something else. Say, “and we set the velocity to 5.0″ – explanation why would be helpful too :)

I had to pause the video numerous times just to see what settings you used.

Hope I’m not coming across harshly – just trying to offer some specific suggestions to make a great effect match a great tutorial.

Thanks for putting this one together! Look forward to seeing more tutorials from you in the future…

I tried to make a step by step tutorial, but it was one hour and a half long…
So, instead, i decided to make an overall presentation of the setup.
Sorry for going too fast on some settings or steps… You know, it’s my first tutorial, and i’ve got a lot to learn…

  22. C´est trés creatif! Very clever usage of Particular.

  23. Power man says:

    Hi

Bit of feedback here, you really need to change your video player from the current one, Even with a dedicated 4mb broadband connection its still jerky.

There are plenty of ones out there.

( you have flash tuts on here, why not build one yourself )

  24. khaled says:

beau boulot Vincent, ca marche vraiment bien

  26. GREAT TUT!!!!!

Thanks for your contributions to the AE community.
Your very talented and original. I have haven’t even thought about using Trapcode Particular 2 for these type of “Growing” effects.

Thanks Again, I look forward to future tutorials.

P.s-Don’t take any of the feed backs to heart, just areas to improve on for the next Tuts. (I HOPE YOU MAKE MORE!!!) I personally didn’t have trouble following along, but I guess others did.

  27. m-_g says:

Merci Vincent très bon tuto, il est vraiment puissant ce particular 2

PS : I think some of you are quite hard with his english,
try to do one in french ; )
I do prefer the video tut’s bescause it’s often easier to understand the process…
I’m not convince it would have been easier to follow a step by step one

    • Vincent BOUDIER says:
      Author

      Merci !

  28. khaled says:

    thanks’ for tutorial
i hope if you can make it from scratch it will be easy to follow
    make it parts
thanks’ for your tutorial relay great tutorial and i hope to learn cool trick from you

  29. P says:

sorry to be a party pooper. but this was the WORST tutorial iv seen on aetuts.. bad english makes it hard to follow, and the fact that u did the tutorial over an already made project makes it very hard to follow.

the whole point of a tutorial is to explain it to an audience who have no idea whats going on, i wouldnt pay $2 for this tutorial let alone $150

    • Vincent BOUDIER says:
      Author

Sorry man, it was a first try…
If you want to know, i didn’t take the 150$…

    • TUT DEFENDER says:

Don’t be such a Jacka$$! You need to discover the fun of having some helpful hints and tips, then figuring the rest out on your own. Don’t just follow these tutorials word for word. EXPLORE some variations. Use your eyes, and not your ears! Look at his settings and not what he is trying to explain. YOU ARE A JACKA$$!

  30. DJDAMITH says:

    Thankz alot….

  31. adam says:

The tutorial is a pure madness confusion
that makes me think that you have not really a clear cue
what a presentation is about….tray to write some lines about your lecturing before

  32. Eric Kristin says:

    Obrigado pelo tutorial excellente!!!

  33. Tom says:

Great concept….illegible Flash tutorial. Is there a way to use less compression so the info on screen is readable? Building it as you go will also help to clearly communicate what is being done if you do intend this as an instructional piece.
(Reference an Andrew Kramer at videocopilot.com tutorial to see what I mean).
Its really a very creative use of Particular.

  34. sid says:

great project can not understdand a word of this guy what the hell is he saying &**)*&&*( sorry for my french should i say ……..

  35. sid says:

great tutorial no clue about this guy he sucks

  36. Jake says:

    Great idea. TERRIBLE TUTORIAL!!!!!

C’mon you lot. Get somebody better please. This was difficult to follow, he passed through lots of details and he barely speaks english. What’s the deal?

Don’t get this guy doing tutorials any more!!

  37. Qaiser Kwl says:

I am very very impressed & i am very happy tutorials

  38. yturru says:

YEAH Vincent pour la france c’est good your tut !

Thanks a lot for all, Yturru

  39. venky says:

    nice tutorials

  40. Billy says:

Great Effect…..HORRIFIC TUTORIAL! That was the most confusing mess I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. Seriously. Great…the guy speaks English….but he couldn’t teach anything in French, much less English. If the editors of this site are going to accept tutorials, the ability to CLEARLY present ideas should be the FIRST and FOREMOST priority. If you can’t do that….WHAT IS THE FREAKIN’ POINT?

GOOD GRIEF! I finally get around to doing this tutorial and spend the entire 3 hours it takes me to get through this mess wishing I had passed. WTF!!!

  41. Dean says:

Awesome tutorial! Don’t worry about your accent. Great minds think in different languages. Could you re-post the project files by the way? It would help a ton.

  42. Mike says:

Please re-post project file for closer look .
    Thanks

  43. Mike says:

Where to find project file for settings plz .

    Thanks alot.

  44. nagesh says:

    nice tutorial man

  45. vadeen says:

It is a good example not a good tutorial. You did not show what exactly you did to make the tree you don’t say which control slider you used, all you did was open the project file and click on thing that are all ready there, how is that going to help some one that knows how to use after effects but is not that deep in to it yet to look at some thing like this and do it for them selves. At less show how to make the tree from nothing, make a new comp and start there
