Create a 3D DNA Strain

We are very happy to welcome AE legend Maltaanon to the Aetuts+ family. Maltaanon kicks things off with this tutorial that makes very clever use of Trapcode’s Form plugin to create something that would normally require a 3D application, but is accomplished entirely within After Effects.

Well that’s 30 minutes of my life I won’t get back.

Please, get to the point. I was rapidly losing the will to live by then end.

The streamed version is always fuzzy now that you guys made the change. The connection has nothing to do with it. The downloaded version is clear and crisp. Just don’t want to have to wait for the thing to download some days.

Since there seem to be quite a few Quartz heads frequenting this site, I’d thought you’d might like to see how to make a double helix in Quartz Composer for free: http://www.vimeo.com/4847806. If you’re on a Mac and into nice visuals, Quartz Composer is definitely worth checking out!

The streamed version might be degrading if the connection is poor. This is why we provide a download version as well so you can download it and watch it at full quality and resolution on your desktop.
