Final Product What You'll Be Creating

This entry is part 31 of 33 in the series Hollywood Movie Titles

Today we’re going to be looking at the animation style from the movie “Super 8″. In this tutorial we will work directly in After Effects. This styling is very simple but not trivial. There are some very interesting details, which together with the movement of the lens flare, creates a truly professional animation. The actual example of the Super 8 movie title is just for training purposes and is not to be used in a final project without permission from the original creators.

    Are you a robot?

    • http://ae.tutsplus.com/tutorials/motion-graphics/aetuts-hollywood-movie-title-series-super-8/ ashcat

There who described him as a “Saint”.
      There who call him “Robot”.
But we call it simply “Legend”.

  • Ben

The tutorial is only half of what the preview says we’ll be making :(. I was hoping to learn how to do the bit with the lenses also.

Sorry Ben, all the tutorials explain how to make only the part on the movie title.
All previews are personalized with “AEtuts presents”.

beautiful short intro after effects is sure one good software i need to sit and work on the thing

  • Jon

    Same here Ben, pretty bummed

  • morescano

Cerri nearly always incomplete tutorials. This disrespects to subscribers

      Egregious Morescano
You know very well that this is not true.
If you refer to the restrictions and the watermarks on the project files,
I’m sorry for you, but in all my tutorials, I explain well how to recreate the titles.
I think that you have confused aetuts for videohive.
      This is a your problem

pretty sure Cerri is a robot

      Very funny Muhammad Umer Zafar…

  • Max

Aside from the horrible personal logo, Cerri’s trying to enter the Guinness record of the “most similar videos in a single streak” category.
    Boring!

    • http://www.crrntn.com Antonio Cerri

      Dear Max,
      Your comment is very aggressive,
      useless and not necessary!

      • Max

What’s not necessary is yet another tutorial on how to do the same title over and over.
30 title sequences is way too repetitive.
Make some more in depth tutorials, no more copying title sequences, create something new!

Else you’re bound to receive comments like this on every single tutorial you make.

Get a grip and find a job in a post house instead of sucking 150 Euros per title while fooling people on the net.

Sorry for the aggressive tone but sometimes it’s just needed.

  • Dawn

Max – I agree. And that GODAWFUL computerised voiceover.

    • funnysummer

100 people maybe have more than 100 needs! I can find what I need here. Antonio, you really do a good job for the ones need!

A movie title is made of several factor. I tihink here we got is the software skil! But you know the software is following the idea, which is the most factor in design! The software’s function is numbered! I think here we got is the skill!

When the new title you never see is coming, maybe what we see is just the new skill! What we should do is learning how to use the skills mentioned in the tutorial to create somethings new and to master it , not to wait the “god” to make more new tutorials!

Here, Antonio offer us the skill of making the title! Maybe some people do not need this, they really need more higher tutorials, so they can go and find somewhere else! And I think attacking Antonio is stupid! He did what he wanted! You can watch the tutorials you want! We all have freedom!

I want to ask, how many people can make every title before watching the tutorials,or master and really know it after watching it! Have you ever use the concept and skills in your project!

We should need to learn to say thanks and treasure all of these!

100 people are different form each other! We should respect us!

Very misleading tuts from you. When I watch the video previews I am excited to recreate it only to find that you have deceived me once again. You won’t fool me a third time sir roboticus.

The best part about the preview is the lenses and motion graphics within them, camera moves and such; not the simple title at the end. What a scam and let down.

You should not be allowed to make tutorials in this way, and no one else asks you to buy stuff from them to be able to fully recreate the look of the preview i.e. your inception tutorial. Good day sir, I’ve said enough.

      Unbelievable! Inspector Gadget
You are asking the first part of the preview, that is, the easier to create!
Here! we are in the section: “Hollywood Movie Title”,
we talk of animation titles style, with those who already have basic knowledge.
If you have trouble on this tutorial, is obvious that you are not able to make an
      animation with the Inception style.

    very intelligent tutorial.i like it.

  • http://www.zebravideo.ca corporate videos toronto

Looks great . this footages make a pretty decent job

  • Marcus

This is probably one of the worst tutorials I’ve ever seen.

    • http://www.crrntn.com Antonio Cerri
      Author

      Marcus who?

  • Will

Your tutorials are great but what attracted me to look at this one in particular was the lens animation at the beginning and end of the “Final Product” video.

Do you plan on making a longer version of the tutorial to explain this? Perhaps not in the same series.
