    Am I doing something WRONG?!

Can’t see this quiz either… Oh man, this sucks

  2. shawn anthony says:

I acknowledge that you took this quiz… but that/s about all. You scored 53.33%

thanks AE TUTS, i could have done better, learn something new again

  3. 2 mistakes. Question 13 and 15. Question 13 – I simply didn’t know, but question 15 – wanted to be too fast. Made a typo :-(
    86.67%

  4. Navarro Parker says:

#3 is iffy. I don’t know a single AE user who uses OpenGL at render time. It’s perpetuating the urban legend that OpenGL super accelerates renders. (It doesn’t)

#15 has two correct answers. If you don’t have a layer selected, you can press “*” on the numeric pad and you will get a comp marker.

  5. Matt Clegg says:

Just did the test and got 100%!

  6. Well, you’re absolutely right. In fact I keep adding comp markers this way for ages. When you do something, you simply do it and don’t think about it. So in fact I made only one mistake. It gives me 93.33%. :-)

  7. Todd Kopriva says:

I agree with Navarro about #3. I’d far sooner use BG Render than use OpenGL to accelerate a render.

Regarding #1: Ask Dan where he gets his information. ;-)

Wouldn’t whoever wrote the after effects scripting language be the ‘king of expressions’?

Question 3 says there are no 3D Masks in AE.
If I set a Layer to 3D and give it a mask, this mask will react correct in a perspective way to the 3D camera.
To me that should be defined as a 3D mask!

    • Yup, you can’t define it as a 3D Mask from the start, but if the layer is set to 3D the mask behaves as one. So i guess the “set 3d layer etc…” answer isn’t necessarily wrong.

  10. ActionCamStudio says:

Just an opinion….you can separate dimensions of a light and set a wiggle for the x and the y position…the error is that it isn’t a plug-in? That’s my only error but i use separate dimension all the time instead of creating an array…i think that the problem is my bad english!

  11. ActionCamStudio says:

By the way…i usually set comp markers with the “*” too…as said if you don’t have any layer selected you can set in this way comp’s markers!
I like this kind of tests! Great job!

  12. ShoeToad says:

It’s funny that everyone ignored my comment :p LOL (the freakin’ 1st one XD)

Is it a members thing? If yes, WHY?!

If not, WHY THE F-PWWIUUUUTT CAN’T I SEE ANY QUIZ ON THIS PAGE?

Could’nt see the first one either…

Hope someone helps me out… AE-quizes are cool (if you can find them :p)

  13. Anil says:

    Great questions.

    Thanks.

  14. Philipp says:

I don’t really agree with the last answer.. With no layer selected, you can add a composition marker with the ” * “-key on the numeric pad as well as hitting the shift+0-9 keys, except, that the others have numbers in their description!
I picked the ” * “-Key option and that that caused me not having 100% :(

  15. I/ve seen better, but pretty good job! You scored 86.67%

    Woohoo.. :D

  16. Chris says:

    Seriously? OpenGL?

No professional after effects user would EVER use opengl.. it makes garbage renders and doesn’t do anything faster.

  17. Sierk says:

    80 %, not too bad :)
