Just had somebody share this with me and wanted to pass it on. Nando Costa, along with the team at Bent put together this piece for Scott. I find it very cool that you can find out how to create a similar effect by following the tutorial by Nicolas Plaire found here.

Very very impressive indeed… nice effect of motion provided here…looking forward to going through the entire tutorial.
Holly!!!!!!!!awesome video!!Bravo. I saw this tutorial too, but i can not imaging that is possible something like this!
Look how fast and nice Vimeo looks! Let’s switch! Dump BipTV!!
Cool, that was indeed a pretty badass tutorial!
that was brilliant
Thanks, thanks everyone… Well, anyway I think that somebody like Nando Costa doesn’t need my tutorial to figure out how to do the “My Paper Mind” effect.
His render is much cleaner than mine…
I like it. I think it’s the perfect use of the technique without ripping off the whole tutorial. both thumbs up!
P.S.: the guy who made this, seems to be a fan of http://www.checklandkindleysides.com/, too
Amazing video… but it will take SOME learning to make stuff like that,eh…?
isn’t a similar effect already done here?

it’s an original piece developed with after effects to plan the shots, but shot in TRUE stratacut. Each frame is aligned to the camera as a paper cutout, and shifted back into space.
