Envato’s Kuala Lumpur Conference

Envato’s Kuala Lumpur Conference

We are currently half way through our two week Envato conference. This has been a great time to meet and mingle with all the people who make the network of Envato sites a reality. We’ve been having daily sessions discussing how to better help our different communities better “Earn and Learn” online.

I spend the vast majority of my time obviously running Aetuts+ so I don’t always set aside the time I should to visit the other incredible sites in the Envato Network. As you already know, Aetuts+ is part of the collection of Tuts+ sites with free educational content being delivered to a massive audience each day. This 2 week conference is a chance for the Tuts+ Editors along with all those who run the Marketplace sites to get together with the development team and admin staff to discuss the future of the company and have a super stellar time collaborating on best practices and company goals…. we’ve also been “dealing” with the Malaysia heat! :)

Envato truly is an amazing company. We always do our best to put the community first and it’s been awesome to hear many of the plans for growth. Good things are coming! :)

working

We’ve been chatting quite a bit about areas we can improve. On the Aetuts+ Facebook page I mentioned our trip and asked if anyone had any feedback on the site. I’d like to extend the same request on to you.

What have you enjoyed on the site? Is there anything you don’t care for?

Instead of just focusing too much on a specific tutorial or two… we’re more interested in bigger picture thoughts. For example, do you prefer written tutorials? Any other categories of content you’d like to see more of? If you could change anything about the interface or user experience that would make the site better, what would it be?

You can leave your thoughts in the comments, of course. Also feel free to email me: ae@tutsplus.com. This is my email and I check it regularly… probably a little too regularly… :) Just know that your thoughts will be read.

Awesome! I would love to have a better account management system. For authors, maybe a better management system to manage comments/tutorials, etc. For the average user, maybe a system to notify you when your comment is replied to similar to the forums.

I personally dislike written tutorials unless they’re concept based. I’d love to see more Title re-creation like what Antonio Cerri is doing, minus the Computer Sam voice :). More integration with C4D/AE from a mograph standpoint, and possibly more tuts using Plexus or other plugins besides Trapcode :)

I would like it if you guys made more tutorials based on helping speed up workflow and just little tips here and there. This tutorial was extremely helpful to me.
