first place is great but for me somehow too clean and sterile and I miss that special something like the charm the runner up vid has.
Could you guys at aetuts+ point out what your criteria have been? you know…make this a bit more transparent for us to be able to relate to your decision ? would be very cool!
Great work here. Like everyone here, I’d like to see tutorials on each. Congrats to the winner and I thought the number two entry was exceptional maybe because the humour added an extra connection to the audience because all were technically perfect.

I keep seeing posts concerned with how a box won especaiily when part of the criteria was to “think outside the box”. I have thought about this and think the crteria was nothing more than a mere typo and should have read as “make it a box”. Now I understand how it won, the others were not boxes

Only one tutorial last week……and appears only one this week? There was a 2nd….WHERE DID IT GO????
It was a copy (or better to say, a rip-off) of another Tut from another site. So they deleted it, Billy.
It was a ripoff from one of FXPHD tutorials.. Fxphd contacted AETUTS and they removed it!
2nd place should have been first place I agree with all of u. First place looses a lot of its glamour with so much clutter and stuff going on plus the box doesnt really represent what every side of the tuts+ network is. I think the tuts+ ppl were a bit unfair and decided to go with one of their most active tutorial producer plus add the fact that he used the other tuts+ as leverage instead of sticking with the ae reveal

So please explain your criteria for picking your winner.

LOL…guys, the first entry was awesome. I think the second one was amazing too. The judges probably had a very hard time chosing between them…but that´s where the small details come in and decide…

The sad thing is the “2nd place winner” really wasn’t even judged as 2nd place as Aetuts said, “We will also select one entrant at random to win a 1 year Plus membership.”
So the 2nd place winner was actually just a random selection. Kinda sad seeing as how good it is. It deserves more attention than just a random draw out of a hat, I feel. But at least he won something for his efforts.
I vote for the Justin Brown! I think he deserves the first place.

I think the last one should of been first. Simple and amazing.
2nd one is way better than the first. at least for the fact that it has a story, is clever and funny. the first one is simply… dull. although technically superior.
Well personally i had this feeling that original logo to be used was emphasized so much and our winner has 1 of its our own…….never mind no hard feelings ……….just a personal thought……………..
