hmm interesting... I have never actually encountered that problem, partly because the H.264 compression by default is already pretty good for me...

I think that Quicktime is the way things are moving, but I don't think that it will ever get completely phased out.

That's what I mean, though... you can alter the bitrate yourself, but it makes no difference, it never renders at that bitrate. It feels like it's around 4000 kb, but that may just be at the resolution I have my "web" output template set up as.

The point is, if I tell it to set a max bitrate of 1400 kb/sec, it won't render as such. Unless I'm completely wrong.

Are you sure? This fix has worked for me to send through FTP to my bosses on numerous occasions... are you sure that you are saving the file? if the file is an .mp4 you have to save it as an .mov (and essentially create another file) to have the fix applied. if it is an h.264 *.mov* to begin with, you just have to save the file.

I think the fix only is applied into a .mov file extension.. I don't know why, but that works for me.

hey Topher!
thanx for the reply :]
yes, i remember watching that Gamma fix, Andrew was talking bout.
BUT...this fixes only your computer\quicktime player. The file stays the same [washed out] as it was, if u send it to other people\clients to watch.
theres gotta be a permanent solution for the file itself..
i wonder if there is sucha thing...
